Immaculate Conception is a designation by which Mary, mother of Jesus, is recognized.

Conceived without original sin, it was proclaimed dogma by Pope Pius IX, on December 8, 1854. Mary, "full of grace" - as the angel Gabriel had announced - the mother of the Savior, would be "adorned by God with gifts worthy of such a great mission." Our Lady of the Conception, in the glory of God, is a reflection of the light of Christ.
