Our Lady of the Rosary

Our Lady of the Rosary, or Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, is an invocation by which the Blessed Virgin Mary is known. At the beginning of the 13th century, the Virgin appeared to St. Dominic de Guzman in the monastery of Prouille and gave him a rosary so that he could pray the psalter for salvation from the sins of mankind. Later, in 1917, in Fátima, presenting herself under the same name to three little shepherds, Our Lady asked them for much devotion, sacrifice and prayer for the salvation of sinners.
