Our Lady of the Afflicted is a title given to Mary, the mother of Jesus, which refers to the moment of her Son's death, when the Master, in his affliction, entrusted his mother as the Mother of all humanity and, thus, all humanity to her. The veneration of Our Lady of the Afflicted is associated with a painting with her image, discovered by Saint Eusebius during his exile in the Holy Land.
