Santiago Maior, also known as Santiago, Son of Thunder, was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ. He was born in Bethsaida, Galilee, and was the brother of Saint John the Evangelist, both fishermen.

Santiago had an impulsive temperament, in defense of Jesus, of whom he was one of the closest apostles, along with Peter and John.
Passionate and impetuous, he formed the initial group of the Church of Jerusalem and, in his evangelization, passed through Spanish territory, where he ended up being buried, in the city of Compostela.
