Isabel de Aragão, born at the end of the 13th century, in Spain, was an Aragonese infanta and queen consort of D. Dinis.

Saint Isabel, a very beautiful young woman, with a taste for prayer and the candid power to generate affection and reconciliation, dedicated her life to good works.
After the death of King Dinis, Isabel retired to the Monastery of Santa Clara-a-Velha, in Coimbra, and although she was very interested in getting married, she always refused. She decided to profess her vows at the Dominican Convent of Jesus, in Aveiro, against the wishes of her family, but as she was a royal princess and potential heir to the throne, she ended up not professing her vows as a nun.
