St. Peter's Magnet
Saint Peter the Apostle, whose real name was Simon, was one of the twelve apostles and the first Bishop of Rome. Peter was a fisherman and met Jesus in an episode known as the 'miraculous catch', when Jesus asked him to use one of his boats so he could preach to the crowd.
Peter began to follow Jesus, becoming a 'fisher of men'.
Peter proclaimed Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God, and Jesus selected him as the leader of the Apostles, to whom he gave the keys of the kingdom of Heaven.
Saint Peter is celebrated on June 29th.
"And I say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church."
