Our Lady of Relief is a name for the Virgin Mary, venerated in Portugal, in the sanctuary with the same name.
Father Francisco Xavier Leite Fragoas, a kind and charitable man, parish priest of São Miguel de Soutelo, in the archdiocese of Braga, was blessed with the apparition of the Virgin Mary who cured him of the illness that was debilitating him, and thus allowed him to fulfill his promise of building a sanctuary in her honor.
