Magnet Saint Joan, Princess of Aveiro
Saint Joana, daughter of King Afonso V and Queen Isabella, felt a religious vocation from an early age and, despite being very attractive to marry, she always refused. She decided to profess her vows at the Dominican Convent of Jesus, in Aveiro, against the wishes of her family, but as she was a royal princess and potential heir to the throne, she ended up not taking vows as a nun.
Saint Joan lived in humility and poverty, dedicating herself to the poorest and most needy.
Her enormous charity earned her the reputation of a Saint. (Officially recognized as blessed by the Catholic Church)
