Patron of charitable works, Saint Vincent de Paul was a priest who dedicated himself to the most disadvantaged. Born in France on April 24, 1581, Saint Vincent began his ecclesiastical career early on.

After his father's death, he suffered financial difficulties and on a sea voyage between Marseille and Narbonne, he was taken prisoner and enslaved. A few years later, he managed to convert his explorer and become free.

Saint Vincent devoted himself to an intense religious life and dedicated himself to creating works to support the poor, the sick, the elderly and abandoned children.
