Joan of Arc, daughter of Jacques D'Arc and Isabelle Romée, was born in France in 1412. She received visions of the Archangel Michael, Saint Margaret and Saint Catherine, who instructed her to help the forces of Charles VII against the rule of England.

Saint Joan set off on the expedition carrying a flag depicting Jesus and Mary and achieved important victories.

Later, Joana was taken prisoner and sentenced in a false court that ordered her to be burned alive in a public square.

Years after her death, by order of Pope Callixtus III, her trial was examined and Joan was proclaimed innocent.

She was declared a martyr by the Church.

Saint Joan of Arc is the patron saint of France and considered an icon of that country.
