Statue of the Virgin of Candelaria 

Our Lady of Candelaria is a name given to the Virgin Mary, patron saint of the Canary Islands (Spain).

In 1392, two shepherds found an image of the Saint, carrying a child and holding a candle, near the beach of Chimisay.
The image was taken to the Cave of Achbinico, where a sanctuary was built.
